Help the needy (b)

If you live in the Baytown, TX area and know of someone in need, how can you steer them toward some help? Here is some info you'll want to jot down:

Obviously, if they're in need of food and live in Baytown, steer them toward the Missouri Street Church of Christ's pantry. The pantry is every Tuesday and Thursday (except on holidays) from 5:00-6:00 p.m. To those who show up with proof they live in Baytown and some form of personal ID, the pantry can provide them with a variety of groceries once a month and bread items once a week.

Are they a resident of Harris County and need help with payment of utility bills? Have them contact Harris County Social Services at: (713) 696-7900.

And two resources for a variety of needs in Baytown are Love, Inc. and the Baytown Resource & Assistance Center. Love, Inc. serves as a sort of clearinghouse for many kinds of resources; a call to them (281- 422-5683) is like calling twenty or thirty churches and other organizations. The Baytown Resource & Assistance Center located at 5309 Decker Drive is also a potential source of aid to the needy in Baytown. Their office # is: 281-424-5752.
