the winter olympics

Eighty-two years ago today the first Winter Olympics began in the French Alps. This year's XX Olympic Winter Games will be hosted in Torino, Italy and are set to begin on Feb. 10. It's all about 2,500 atheletes competing in figure skating, ice dancing, ice hockey, speed skating, skeleton, cross country skiing, luge, bobsledding, snowboarding, freestyle skiing, downhill skiing and more. Whether it's the beauty of figure skating or the "they must have a death wish" appearance of the sport of skeleton (sliding down a mountain head first on your stomach with no brakes at 75 mph!), this year's Winter Olympics has something to capture your attention. All the way from the U.S. Olympic team to perhaps even the Ghana ski team.
