wisdom and religion

A quote worthy of ponder:
“Religion cannot be separated from wisdom nor wisdom from religion, for it is the same God who is known (this is the role of wisdom) and honored (this is the role of religion) by both. But wisdom precedes and religion follows, for knowing God comes first and worshiping him is the result. ... The source of wisdom and religion is God; and if these two streams flow away from him, they must of necessity dry up. Those who are ignorant of him can be neither wise nor religious.” (Lactantius, about 300 A.D.)
