great freeware

"What software do you use, David?"
A number of you have asked me about the software I use, particularly freeware. The following list, though not definitive, is something of a hit parade of some of the freeware I use often and consider virtually "essential" for my PC.

Audio/video:
Audacity
TrayPlay

Browsers:
Mozilla Firefox
(with Firetune)
Opera

E-mail:
Mozilla Thunderbird

Graphics/pictures
:
Gadwin PrintScreen
IrfanView
Paint.Net

Misc.:
CutePDF Writer
Email Stripper
Foxit Reader
Google Pack
(which includes several programs)
MS PowerToys
(which includes several programs)

Productivity:
ClipoMatic
Copernic Desktop Search
NoteTab Lite
Rainlendar

Spyware/malware detection:
AdAware
Spybot

Utilities:
BelArc Advisor
CCleaner
ClearTweak
EasyCleaner
HDD Thermometer
X-Setup Pro 6.5

Actually, if you have a PC with Windows XP, you could add the following two, free programs to the preceding list and you'd have a very capable setup:

E-Sword
(a Bible program)

OpenOffice
(similar to Microsoft Office)
